Digital Detox

Here I am for another weekly installment in my very exciting life. This week has definetly been a fun one, as well as a nice change of routine for me. As you can probably assume from the title, I've been doing a little bit of a digital detox. Also a little adventure to the city to go shopping and whatnot with my parents, but moreso just to hang out and have a good time. To end off the week it's me trying to find myself.

To start off the week, around a day or two after I published my first blog I was watching a video. To summarize, he made some good points in the way in which boredom is used as a tool for creativity, and how our devices are making us less bored and in turn less creative. So, in typical impulsive fashion, I decided to try it out, and honestly it's been great. I've even been stopping my music and YouTube consumption while I'm at work, and I've been noticeably more social. I know a lot of this rant sounds like "Grown man touches grass," and honestly it kinda is. I've just realized how much time I've been wasting and I want to continue with this detox so I can achieve something. However, I would be more hardcore about it if it weren't for my cousin. He gifted my a and it's been causing me to spend more time on the computer than I would like. It was very nice of him, and I do feel obligated to finish it since I don't want his money to be wasted. And honestly it's a good relaxing game so I'm not complaining.

Me and my parents were sick for the entirety of last week. By the time it hit Friday we were all pretty much feeling better, and we went to the city to kind of round off the week. It was nice we don't head to the city very much, I was hoping to find a computer or such at a thrift store since I'm trying to build up some locally hosted stuff for our house, but no luck. I've been watching The Sopranos, and wanted to try "Gabagool" and luckily found some at the local market. However, I'm not a fan unfortunately. I thought I would like it, but it just tastes like salty ham, the show makes it look so good. It would be nice on a sandwhich though. Anyway my dad bought us a meal and I got to drive home, and we got back home with just enough time for me to get ready for work.

To round off the week personally, I've been trying to find myself, specifically in terms of style. I think I'm finally over my ex, and I want to start putting myself out there more in hopes to find someone else. This is the first time I've ever started caring about fashion, I've elected my style to be "business casual" 'cause honestly it is. I'm so out of my depth picking clothes, I don't know what looks good together or if I look like a dork or not, I'm sure I'll get better though. On another note, I've discovered I'm a watch person. I found a very nice watch at the store when buying my clothes, and it's convienent to have during my digital detox week.

Overall a great week, especially for my mental health. They were right it's that damn phone. Anyways, thanks again for taking the time to read my blog and I can't wait to catch you guys again next week!
